Drill designer, Shannon Jeffreys, is truly one of the up-and-coming stars in the marching-band-design world. His drill designs bring to each show a great understanding of voice stagging, placement, and guard integration.
Shannon is a 1996 graduate of Austin High School in Decatur, AL. After high school, he went on to attend the University of Mississippi playing trumpet in the marching, symphonic and pep bands. While attending Ole Miss, he marched lead soprano with The Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps of LaCrosse, WI.
Since 2002, Mr. Jeffreys has been instructing and consulting for numerous marching bands across North Alabama, while bring forward a more progressive style of drill design to the region. For the 2009 season, he became the visual caption head with Decatur High School in Decatur, AL. He went on to become their drill designer for the 2010 and 2011 seasons. During the 2010 and 2011 season, the band earned Best in Class awards at every single contest they entered including back-to-back Class A wins at the prestigious Contest of Champions in Murfreesboro, Tennessee; they became the first Alabama based band to win a “Best in Class Award” in the events 49 year history.
Currently, Mr. Jeffreys is a student at the University of Alabama in Huntsville where he is pursuing a Music Education degree. Shannon is also a designer for The Marching Warehouse.
